I'll Be - Edwin McCain

Just another classic tune that can put smile on my face. Love it.

The strands in your eyes that color them wonderful

Stop me and steal my breath
Emeralds from mountains thrust toward the sky
Never revealing their depth
Tell me that we belong together
Dress it up with the trappings of love
I'll be captivated
I'll hang from your lips
Instead of the gallows of heartache that hang from above

[Chorus:]
I'll be your crying shoulder
I'll be love suicide
I'll be better when I'm older
I'll be the greatest fan of your life

Rain falls angry on the tin roof
As we lie awake in my bed
You're my survival, you're my living proof
My love is alive not dead
Tell me that we belong together
Dress it up with the trappings of love
I'll be captivated I'll hang from your lips
Instead of the gallows of heartache, that hang from above

[Chorus]

I've been dropped out, burned up, fought my way back from the dead
Tuned in, turned on, Remembered the things that you said

[Chorus]

Happy Tuesday

It is only Tuesday, yet so many (good) things have happened:

  1. So it is confirmed that three of our colleagues will be leaving for PhD latest by Sept. Ouch, will be short of few good people, but hey thinking on the bright side we will be having more doctorates in the future. Good for the programme.
  2. She finally gave birth to a healthy 3.55 kg baby boy. Natural. Great news kan. Totally great news. Congrats to R&M.
  3. My good neighbour moved to a new wing. Strange. How my sides can be so freaking quiet that it gets so lonely though most of the rooms are occupied. I'm getting less people then over here. But its okay, lets hope more new people will be joining us.
  4. Since that my neighbour has moved to the room that was used to be Kak J*j*'s, I guess its true then that she has left for good. I really salute those who were brave enough to follow their dreams, taking all the risks the world has to offer.
  5. Its midterm break, convocation, tamu gadang and PEREKA competition now. All happening this week. Yippie. But it also means, we need to pass the final exam question next week. Isk, macam baru jak aku menanda kertas exam last sem. *Sigh*
  6. Still waiting for the long overdue good news today, will update once I know ok.
  7. Pregnancy updates ~ baby has started to move for the past 2 weeks. Auww...sweet. I really miss those feelings. And now that I can feel it again, I feel blessed! :) I have been having abdominal pain (at the c-sect line) every now and then, but DrPretty says its normal for some mothers because the muscle is stretching, just that if its becoming extremely painful, I have to tell her. True, I am worried, but then again its been almost 2 yrs now, hence I pray that the pain will soon go away.

5.46 p.m. Friday. And I am still at the office.

Had this conversation half an hour ago.

Me : So, can we go home now?
Hubby : Hmm..
Me : Bulih balik sudah, u ok?
Hubby : Still not answering. Munching keropok.
Me : Getting restless. Hmm...
Hubby : Ada kerja sikit lagi. Kena abiskan.

Hubby : Ya, isnin kan kena attend kursus. Kena siapkan juga ni.
Me : Bah, okla. Nnt kestau ja bila mau pulang.
Hubby : Hmm, u ok ka?

Hubby : Ya?
Me : Mau ajak pigi dating bah! *blushing*. Ha ha..Adui nah, macam mau pigi first date masa bercinta pula rasanya bila mau kestau. Crazy.
Hubby : SR?
Me : Isk, boring bah tuh...i mau tgk movie..
Hubby : Then?
Me : Cancel jela...maybe next week..*keciwa* (Had to ditch the plan due to some reasons).

So we ended up dating makan nasi goreng di putatan while watching Chong Wei playing for semi final, together with my cuz of course.

I didnt want anything that day just some time off with hubby (mcm nda cukup2 jmpa di rumah and ofis pula kan haha) because its the day I turned 29. Selfish? Why not? Big deal for me before I hit the big 3-0. Ha ha

Ah well, that nasi grg will do and besides Chong Wei winning the match is smtg good to celebrate as well right?

Black Gold

I lost 40 bucks today.

How?

There was a long queue at the nearby Shell, and it took most of the customers more than 5 mins to pay for petrol. Reason: there was only one staff at the counter entertaining customers inside the premise and intermittently entertained us for petrol.

My turn came and after paying, I rushed back to my car and filled her up. It says filling on the screen but strangely the meter (the amount in liter and price) was not moving. Anyhow, since there was a massive queue already at the station, I decided to get into the car and drive away. Hoping that the meter in the car will show a different reading.

But no, nothing changed. Apparently the amoi at the counter didn't give any receipt, thus I did not have any proof to make solid argument about not getting what I paid for. Lame. Besides, people were still queuing like mad at the counter. And I was rushing for my meeting.

So thats how I lost my 40 bucks. Since petrol has turned into black gold these days, it was indeed a tragic incident for me. He he.

Credit card should save me from having to queue for petrol, but but but... I do not know how to use it there. Ha ha ha. I know, somebody should spank me. I should learn from hubby how to use it actually, but now that he is away for a 5-day course (explains why suddenly I became ms.independent), think I have to wait till he gets back. Lesson: Ignorance has a price to pay!

I have also became MrRooney for my daughter for the past 2 nights. Hubby will normally entertain her with a mini football session every night. Now that she is so used to it, the pemain simpanan a.k.a moi, has to take over-lah. Me? Playing ball?? Oh dear! Lets just hope that I didn't break anything during penalty.

p/s: EAC Day 2: No news yet on the evaluation.

EAC Day 1

1. Had to cancel class, the meeting was ahead of schedule.

2. Presentation by boss was great, hope it was impressive to the panels.

3. Lucky that I was not selected to be interviewed, major relieved! :)

4. The IT guy should stay there, just in case. But he/they just disappeared as usual. Minor technical problem, but enough to slowdown the event. Not good at all. The boss to the boss was there to witness the embarrassing moment.

More updates later. .

EAC breakdown

3 more days before EAC.

I can smell disaster from a distance. Having said that, it is scary to see the cooperative mode at the dept's level. Hmm...I dont blame those who have to attend other business related to work. I dont know. But it doesnt take a genius to figure out something is wrong in the dept.

I pity dear boss, I really do. I cant imagine myself being in his position.

I am just tired. Just finished finding some reports in the tong sampah room and rearranged the report inside the bilik sumber. Getting very very last minute instructions are too much sometimes, that I am shutting my ears and eyes already. Come what may next week, we just have to brave through the ordeal.

Sorry, got too emotional.. I just had to let loose a little bit. To others who have been very supportive and super duper kind, thank you very much. Hope we will get through this.. :)

Domestic Goddess vs Corporate Tai-tai

Monday started off pretty traumatizing for me today. Hahah, lucky my sanity is still intact after the 2-hr lecture.

The past 2-3 weeks have been torturing really, workwise and nothing is more gratifying than to have the EAC finishing real quick so we can actually have some space to breathe. Seriously. Although I did have my previous lecture notes, I do need to revise it from time to time and study too, but doing so requires extra hours from me, which is of course have not been possible for the past few weeks. I do not know how all this while I survived giving lecture so unprepared. But life must go on so they said.... :P

Last week I didnt even managed to take a glance at my lecture notes for Monday's class (today) let alone studying. Alternative, was to bring work home. Blerghhh.... Saturday morning I was up extra early, cooked nasi goreng for breakfast and did spring cleaning of the room. Sorted few clothes for laundry. Took me half a day. Mind u, I didnt managed to lap lagi the habuks. Cooked lunch, and went to my in-laws in the afternoon. Stayed there and cooked again for dinner. It was almost 10 pm when we reached home. I woke up scratching the side of my face only to find out I slept with my glasses last night. Too tired to take it off. Crazy kan. Haha.

Then on Sunday, Hubby was busy helping FIL moving things so I was occupied with daughter all day long. She slept at 1 pm for 3 good hours. Finally some rest for me. But I didnt do my notes, instead I was busy baking cake. *Spank me please*. Daughter woke up in time for the kek kukus to cook. Fed my daughter and entertained her until other half got back and joined me to watchTV3 news. Had dinner with hubby and after that he played with daughter while I do the dishes.

Hubby was too tired, so he went upstairs and conked immediately. Back to taking care of darling daughter again until she sleeps. I need to do some ironing, thus requested mom to look after daughter for a while. After I am done with changing the pillowcase, daughter requested to watch the brainy baby cd (average 8 times per day) and while watching it the rule is I MUST be around, otherwise she would cry. I am supposed to make that ga-ga, oohhh, uuuuu, wahhh... sound too with her. Her regular bedtime is near or after midnight, sometimes even at 2 am. No she didn't sleep at 8 or 9 pm like other kids do. So last night it was 11.45, not too bad.

It was only at 12 midnight I get to do my notes. I took the notebook and book by my side (on the bed ~ silap besar la kan!!!), and did my notes for a while. Hubby sleeps so peacefully with daughter by his sides (she co sleep with us) and I continued my work fighting myself from falling asleep. The next thing I knew, I woke up with another itchy feeling on the side of my left eye (darn that glasses), and my book nicely sprawled on the pillow and notebook screen saver flashing on my face. You can figure out how I slept last night. Ha ha ha...

And today, as a result... for breakfast I tapau some karipap and ate them in the car, while reading my book. Time checked 9.25. Damn. 35 mins before class and still 3 more pages to read. Reached my room at 9.45. Printed the assignment 2 (PBL) for the class. And by 10 am I was already in class distributing the assignment. The first 1 hr was for them to do the assignment while I revised my lecture notes. He he... Oh dear... But nonetheless, lecture was fine today.

Switching from domestic goddess to a 9-5 corporate tai-tai aint easy kan? And keeping a sky rocketing KPI is even tougher. And thinking about the bills can drive you nuts too. There were many occasions that I feel like crying when we reached home, because I am so freaking tired, but when my daughter greets me with this smile everyday and hug me and pat my back (yes she does that all the times funny kan), the world seems to revolve around her, only her. I have completely forgotten about myself.

Presenting my daughter with her latest skill memujuk mau ikut pigi kedai with her seluar pendek & pinkish flowery slipper...
