random thoughts

Currently waiting for hubby to fetch me at the office. I couldn't get myself to do any work anymore, my mind just refuse to cooperate an hour ago. Enough for today perhaps. Well, will u be appreciated more if u do more? Yay? Nay?

We had presentation by methodology students this morning, interesting as it was something unrelated to our subjects. Its funny how I began to realized all this while I have been keeping my life trapped in a similar cocoon that I forgot that there are also different wonders to explore in this world.

Like what? Mukabuku maybe? Ha ha ha... I am getting the hang of this thing, strange how can I become an addict. oh I'm sure millions have been infected as well. So, this is what they have been doing heh? Hahaha... no offense, as I told you, I am a certified addict too. I am picking up, slowly :P

Syuhada is not well this morning, slightly feverish but I guess paracetamol will ease that away and I leave the daycare to handle that. I hate it when I had to go to work whenever the kids are not well (its presentation week this week I just had to come). It made me feel like a lousy mom who thinks money rules the world. I wish I can be like lorelai gilmore, selling coffee and pancakes every morning in a cozy cafe, catching up the latest gossip in town and by my girls' bff.

Jambatan runtuh di Kuala Dipang, 22 dikhuatiri hilang

IPOH 26 Okt. - Seramai 22 pelajar dikhuatiri hilang dalam satu kejadian jambatan runtuh berhampiran sekolah Kuala Dipang, Tapah dekat sini malam ini.

Berita mengenai kejadian itu disampaikan oleh Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) Air Kuning, Datuk Shamsudin Abu Hassan kepada Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd. Kadir malam ini.

Zambry dan para pegawainya kini dalam perjalanan ke tempat kejadian yang mengambil masa kira-kira sejam dari bandar raya ini.

Menurut sumber, para pelajar terbabit sedang berkhemah berhampiran tempat kejadian.– Utusan.

I couldn't help but smile when I saw hubby was munching cekodok pisang as fast as Sir Alex was chewing his gum. Te hee, such a tense night it was. I wasn't much of a football fan, that my knowledge on it is worse beyond words. I thought Owen was playing for his old team last night. He he he.. And hubby had this intense glare on me when I said I think man u certainly has few old players. He came up with this term: golden players, they will never be too old to play. Ha ha. Ok ok, on second thought maybe I should just keep digging into this bowl of cekodok pisang.

The day when food rules my mind

I am having a mixed feelings over personal issue, nothing big really but it does get into my system once in awhile and thinking about it, makes me slightly unhappy. Just a little maybe, it feels like when you are putting too much salt into your food, dinner will be a bit salty, but u'll eat it anyway. There is this tiny discomfort, but over time it'll just disappear, so long as you know how to change it into a positive thinking.

A plate of nasi beriani for lunch seems like a good way of channeling ur thought heh? Especially when its nearing the midday. Oh how I wish..I tried the recipe from the new cook book received from hubby last weekend (dah tanya balik2 bila mau masak kan, so hentam saja la labu hehe). It turned out alright just that I need to put in more spice next time. But , but , but... Mr hubby had too many open hse for raya to attend that evening, he actually was too full when he reached home. I was angry of course when he decided to eat it for brekkie the next day. Ada ka..cis

But hubby had his way of consoling me...How can I say no to this? it will be nice if we have ice-cream and squeeze some choc on top of it. yum yum..

Jom masak..

Hubby asked what to get me at Kinokuniya, so I told him find those books from her (not sure if its available in kk)....Ha ha ha, so domestic of me lately kan. I dont know, saja ja..u can simply get the recipe from the net, but i guess since she is willing to share it for free, why not give her some credits so that she will have more inspiration to try on new recipe and share with us later, and write more books. And besides, there is something about flipping through pages of books rather than browsing the net kannn... real sikit feel dia.

I like her cook book, simple and easy to do. Clear instructions and guided with step-by-step pictures. Crucial, for beginners like me... ha ha ha. And hubby had pointed out which recipe i should try. Bah sabarla lookong, nanti2 yaa.. (Bila lah tuh? hehe)....

Anyways, it was ums open hse this morning. wow, plenty of food, lemang, satay, ketupat, rendang, mee kari and lots more... siap ada persembahan, meriah betulla and best... bertuah betul student2 ums nih. all through my uni years, x pernah kami kena treat mcm ni. bestla budak2 ni...

update:
baru balik dr menjenguk pigeon hole, ada 2 kerja suda menanti. 1 stack of papers for lab consumables dan meeting next wk. hmm.. interesting meeting next wk probably, pastinya mencari salah siapa bila more than rm1 milllion of maintenance budget belum terusik. mungkin yg di atas sudah tertnya smpi akhir thn belum abis lagi. hmm.. kita yg di bwh pon tertnya2 juga ttg apa yg sudah terjadi sebenarnya..tgu la babak yg seterusnya...uuuuu, mlm nih buleh layan nur kasih kan..

Do you know what puts a smile on my face today?

I smiled when I saw few workers rearranged new trees at one corner of the corridor this morning. they are just lovely, how I wish I could steal one or two and bring it back home to add to my collections. just bought few lovely local breeds and most produced bright red and purple color flowers, so pretty and lovely to have. cost me rm35. cheap! and that makes me one happy bunny.

i have been telling hubby how nice it would be to have a small backyard garden, that said, i was hinting for us to move out from the apartment and find a place where i have more space for them. and we can add tomato, chili, and everything. see, so domestic of me these days ha ha.

i also smiled today when the student understood how to do double and triple integration, and they did ask a lot of questions. that gives me a taste of pleasure knowing that they do appreciate the lecture and keen to learn more, especially when the question comes from those weak students.

but sometimes i feel funny how i love and hate my job at the same time. i love teaching, learning, and do bit of csi work and share my thoughts with the students, but the past 2 weeks have been rough and got me thinking of whether i have made the right choice of becoming an academician. (psst.. i did a quiz on which career should i choose, and i still end up with lecturer... ha ha no excuse to update the resume)

grapevine has it that 5 more people will be leaving this place. dont ask me on who or when as i don't have details. dont u think its funny and getting worse day by day. i hope there will be time, when someone will realized that something is way wrong and get it fix.

oh well, another reason to smile today is we just got back from yatt's open hse. wow, she's a great cook (note: must learn how to cook lodeh too!). smpi tersandar kami kekenyangan ha ha. thanks yeah, for those yummy spread. i guess the 3rd open hse so far, its nearing the end of syawal, not so many open hse this yr i guess. ops, there's one tomorrow... he he, lupa suda janji pon dgn dorang...

hubby is coming home today.. its a perfect reason to smile.. kan?

of course, this puts a smile on my face too... :)

happy birthday dear!

she turns 3 today!

no fancy gift (yet). oh well, the daddy is on his way to the airport now attending a 3-day conference thus, no party today. weekend was filled with convo duty and classes to attend hence just a small family gathering for a quick birthday on saturday night. poor girl, hmm..

anyhow, she's happy that everyone was there to celebrate her day, and thrilled with the minnie mouse cake by her (sori no pic yet, will update later). the choc mud cake is so yummy. 3 kg ok, and there was like 5 of us only. kembung la makan kek, ha ha. kek dah tempah awal, but last2 minute kena cancel the party. sedih kan.

nevermind la, papa dia sudah janji mau beli hadiah byk2 di kl nanti. dont forget gift for mama dia juga k. banyak-banyak juga tau. sempat lagi tuh. u bet. haha..

pening layan dia nih, tapi best juga sekali sekala. happy 3rd birthday darling. we love u very much. semoga jadi anak solehah,dimurah kan rezeki, dan diberkati dan sentiasa dilindungi Allah swt. dengar ckp mama and papa selalu k, rajin2 pegi sekolah.

While everyone is busy with convo and everything, I got myself occupied with cleaning up the room and sorting the files. The whole day ok, kalau ikut byk kerja, mmg byk but if I were to wait for me to finish up all the task baru nak kemas, alamat bertimbun la sampah sarap nih. Hmm.. kaedah byk kertas2 dan dokumen yang pelbagai itu, mcm dah patut jadi profesor nih. Ha ha, tuhla yg kawan2 selalu ckp bila masuk bilik saya, I always apologize for my messy room, but they told me ini bilik org yg rajin kerja. Ha ha, menikam kalbu tuh. Bah, anggaplah komen tuh sbg motivasi kan...

What got me into doing this? Well, 2 days ago I received a gentle note from the office that my annual leave balance is -12 days. What? Setahu saya, baru 18 hari saya cuti smpi Okt nih. Maka, berpeluhla juga saya mencari forms cuti yg telah diisi dari awal tahun in the piles of papers di dalam bilik utk semakan semula baki cuti. Lucky that I stacked all the forms di satu tempat ja. I found out also ada 5 hari yg saya sepatutnya cuti but saya lupa and bekerja. Wahhh, I really need a major 5s right? Hehe... So, hasilnya...


Kemas file yg baris kedua dan ketiga ja, yg lain2 gitu ja.. Now happier, at least berumahtangga juga kertas2 yg byk di atas meja tuh.


Tapi meja masih bersepah2 lagi, maybe afterwards, dah letih. Hehe

The only hiasan kat bilik, fountain kecil and mini bonsai tipu. Dan radio sekali sekala temankan saya. Graduation pic also, tu pon dah tenggelam dengan buku kan. Ha ha..Bukan apa, kagum dgn bilik kawan2 yg ada bunga bunga-an, dan mini snack bar lagi. cermin besar utk bersiap pon ada... :) Wah, I do need to make some face lift to this corner....

Nih pon tatau mana nak letak, dah penuh bilik dgn kertas2 assignment, lab reports dan exam paper students. Jadi landfill sudah bilik nih....Need to think where should I put this, yg dlm almari pon byk juga...hmmm

the kids and convo

Rutin seharian bila balik dr nursery, dlm gelap2 pon masih mengadap buku. Bangun pagi pon sama, kdg2 x sempat cuci muka pon cari buku dulu dan biasanya mintak di teman kalau membaca atau menulis. Tak sempat mama dia nak cuci pinggan... Hehe

Rindu ok dgn sikecil nih, nak masuk 9 bulan dah. Cepat kan masa berlalu. Mungkin balik kampung malam ni, rindu sgttttt dgn dia.. Nak tau kenapa dia nangis yo yo oh tuu..


Tgkla si kakak sudah abiskan satu balang kuih raya, licin smpi serbuk2 pon di korek lagi lagi...ish ish...baguss.. maka si kecil pon jeles la, sebiji tat nanas x cukup ok (minus dia punya jem la, saya x bagi manis sgt tuh)...
Oh ya, selamat berpesta berkonvo kepada semua, tak kira la yg bukak gerai ka, yg akan berkonvo or kepada parents. Juga kepada semua lecturer2 yg dedikasi. bangga kan tgk student2 kita yg so naive dulu masa 1st yr sudah konvo sekrg. congratulations! also to yan yan, for getting her masters degree. :)
