Monday ramblings

Next year will mark another milestone for the dept with the accreditation process and ICCBPE'08. This is will only mean more work and work and work. In which, it is further translated as I should leave this place as soon as I can. Hahaha..

Students will sit for my paper come Thursday, exactly at 2.00 p.m. Hmm...I hope they'll perform better compared to their midterm exam.

I'm off to see Casandra during lunch time, and she better have good news for us regarding the house. I'm too tired to play this waiting game.

Eid Mubarak

His words have never failed to inspire me although much of the things written there were literally meant for others perhaps and merely sharing all his experiences. But, it has somehow triggered me to be more focused on what I’m doing now. Talk about motivational icon! Most people think that what he did was such a waste of money and serves no contribution to the country. Well, for me, from macroscopic view I couldn’t see the significance of his effort yet but somehow rather from a different angle I think he did moved me in a way that I am seeing things much clearly now and for the first time ever I know what I want in life and I’m going to get it. Not him, u moron…u ahhhh….hahahaha.. I’m out of the list, so gals u all have fairly an equal chance of getting him okay no worries on that… Heheh.

People will continue to criticize him and the govt for the so called ‘membazir’ programme, and I strongly believe that even emphasizing the ultimate objective of the whole thing over and over again is never gonna satisfy any of them. I don’t see the point of arguing anymore. Lets put it this way, he is just damn lucky to score himself an expensive scholarship to learn about this space thing and eventually flew to space. As an academician, I totally disagree when others say that menuntut ilmu is such a waste of money. Otherwise, those students who obtained scholarship to pursue studies locally or abroad should be in the same boat as well – being labeled as membazir duit kerajaan jugak kan. Rumah dah siap, pahat masih berbunyi pun tak guna kan...After all, he is the one chosen to go to space and that is something which will never going to happen to me or to you my friend, not even in our 10 lifetime right? Well, enough said I guess, be it a cosmonaut, astronaut, spaceflight participant or they can even call him a space tourist if they want, he went up there already, and that is the fact that they cannot change …yg penting he shared what he learnt there with us and fulfill his responsibilities. And yes, please be happy just a tiny bit on this event right? He' s opening up a new frontier for our cucu cicit, what more can we ask from someone who's willing to risk his life so our grandchild knows what its like to play gasing up in space. Hehe. Kidding. Well, being parent myself, I can imagine how difficult it was for his parents to swallow the fact that their son could die in space. Titik.

Moving backwards a bit, since we are still in the month of Syawal, I certainly hope it is still not too late to wish everyone a festive raya this year. Mine was great. Morning was spent at my place and later that noon we went to my in laws. And raya this year is also a double celebration as apparently daughter’s b’day was on the last day of Ramadhan, so we decided to celebrate it the next day, which is on hari raya and it was really nice occasion. (p/s: see cake: I hate the way they write 1^st b’day syuhada – lousy job). How time flies, I can’t believe myself either that my darling baby is growing up so fast. By the way, there’s an immediate vacancy (commencing as early as next yr Jan/Feb) for those interested to do their PhD in encapsulation technology alongside my colleague. Scholarship is provided and you are to do your degree in France. Interested? Let me know, I’ll give the details.
